Molly’s Prize Peach Cobbler

Filed under: recipes — Kate @ 12:21 am

This recipe is a summer treat. I made it last weekend for a dinner party, and everyone at the table asked for the recipe. Be sure to add ice cream for the perfect summer dessert.

Molly’s Prize Peach Cobbler

Ingredients:
3/4 cup flour
less than 1/8 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup butter or marg
2 cups fresh sliced peaches
1 cup sugar (or less)

Directions:
Sift flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix with 1 cup sugar; slowly stir in milk to make batter.
Melt butter in 8X8X2 in. baking pan. Pour batter over melted butter. Do not stir. Mix the peaches and 1 c sugar (I use about half that) thoroughly and carefully spoon them over the batter.
Bake 1 hour at 350. Serve hot or cold, with cream of vanilla ice cream if desired.
Yield: 6 servings
